Die Hard trailer

Synopsis

One of the biggest films of the eighties, Die Hard was not only a box office smash, but it made a star of its leading man, Bruce Willis, and quickly became considered as one of the greatest action movies of all time. Willis plays Detective McClane, who has arrived in Los Angeles to spend the holidays with his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia). During her Christmas office party a group of terrorists, led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), seize control of the high-rise building. McClane manages to slip away unnoticed, and armed only with a service revolver and his cunning, launches his own one-man war.vVoted number one on Empire magazine's The 30 Best Christmas Movies Ever poll, the film was followed by four sequels (to date) and countless imitations – Passenger 57 was nicknamed Die Hard on a plane, Under Siege was Die Hard on a Battleship, etc – but the original is still easily the best. Packed with action, a witty and intelligent script, plus Bruce Willis at his most charismatic and Rickman at his most villainous, Die Hard is still as exciting and suspenseful as it was on release in the 80s.
