When a bomb explodes in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, it seems police have an important head start in the investigation: they already have a suspect, Tagosaku Suzuki, in custody. As they question him, they learn there are other bombs planted across the city. However, Tagosaku refuses to speak in anything other than mysterious riddles. As officers desperately attempt to save civilians from further bombings, dete ctive Ruike works at interpreting Tagosaku’s cryptic clues and unravelling the truth about what is unfolding.

Earning its comparisons to thriller classics such as Se7en, Suzuki=Bakudan is a dark yet engrossing crime thriller with a superb, unpredictable t urn from Jiro Sato as Tagosaku - a performance that earned the actor a Japan Academy Prize.
