Synopsis

China is in the grip of 'pianomania.' Of China's entire of musical students, 83% study the piano. Altogether, there are more than 30 million children and teenagers studying the piano, with many practising up to ten hours a day. This film follows three students and their families as they attempt to realise their dreams in the competitive world of Chinese piano.

From director Gary Lennon (Castro's Spies), this documentary is both an initmate portrait of a talented group of young people, and a glimpse into the lives of the new Chinese middle class, the world's most dynamic social group.
