Solax Cinema: Last Film ShowTBC110 min
Synopsis
Celebrating 5 years of Solax Film Club, a pop-up arthouse cinema in Dublin. There will be a short introduction to the film and the screening will be followed by a relaxed post-film discussion with the audience and a wine reception.
The Last Film Show is a beautiful tribute to cinema seen through the eyes of nine-year-old Samay, whose world changes the day he discovers the magic of film. Captivated by the dance of light on the screen, he becomes obsessed with capturing it and turning it into stories.
Samay’s small town is fading, and the family’s main source of income, the local train line, is being modernised, putting their livelihood at risk. His journey is as much about holding on to tradition as it is about chasing his dreams.
Driven by wonder and a fierce passion, Samay will stop at nothing to follow the flickering glow of 35mm film. But to chase that light, he must leave behind everything he knows, unaware of the heartbreak ahead.
From the rhythmic clatter of the rails to the warm, fragrant rituals of authentic Indian cooking in his family’s kitchen, this film is a treat for all the senses.
