Synopsis

New Jersey. 2003. They’re discussing 9/11 memorials on the radio, Valentine’s Day is coming to a close, and Ponyboi, an intersex sex worker, is lonely in love. His john won’t let him talk during sex. His laundromat job is absolutely thankless. His pregnant best friend is oblivious to the fact Ponyboi is sleeping with her boyfriend. And that boyfriend, a goofy drug dealer doling out meth and machismo, is about to chase Ponyboi through the wildest night of his life.

A deal goes bad and Ponyboi finds himself running from the mob, stashing hormones, finding old friends, making new enemies, sprinting all night through the gritty underbelly of New Jersey with his vengeful pimp and a mysterious cowboy at his heels. The film quickly kicks into high gear and doesn’t let up on the accelerator. But Ponyboi can only run for so long — and he won’t have a future if he doesn’t stop running from his past.

Starring rising star River Gallo in their narrative feature debut alongside Dylan O’Brien (Saturday Night), Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), and Indya Moore (Pose), Ponyboi is a wonderfully original neo-noir mingling queer self-discovery with modern mobster mythos. Sex, drugs, violence, hormones–we’re starting TITE off with a BANG!
