Rank and File Film Club and Light House presents We Are Making a Film About Mark Fisher. This screening will be following by a panel discussion with the following guests -

Kasia Boyle is a musician, radio presenter and currently an art facilitator at Midhe Democratic School. She was previously the facilitator of the Mark Fisher reading group at Unit 44.

Odin O'Sullivan is a film theorist and cultural critic who is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Galway.

Cíara Dempsey is a PhD candidate in film studies at University College Dublin. Her research focuses on the relationship between glamour and labour on screen.

Rank and File collective aims to bridge the gap between art and politics through community events. The collective run a socialist film club with the aim of using film as a medium to make leftist politics accessible to everyone. 

Blending documentary, performance, and hauntological fiction, the film follows Parkins — a time-slipped character — through ghostly landscapes and digital spaces, tracing Fisher’s thought from the 1990s to our algorithmic present.

Created collaboratively by over 70 artists through Instagram, the film embodies Fisher’s call for collective imagination beyond capitalist realism.
