LIGHT HOUSE PRESENTS A SELECTION OF CINEMATIC LOVE TRIANGLES
There’s always room for one more, isn’t there?
In anticipation of the release of Celine Song's Materialists, Light House are devoting a season to complicated, funny and bizarre love triangles, featuring stories where relationships and friendships are pushed to the limits, loyalties are tested and new alliances are forged, all in the name of love (and sometimes crime). Where better to start on July 26th, than with Luca Guadagnino's Challengers, which takes a love triangle to centre court and sets it to a banging Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross soundtrack.
Still as modern as it was in in 1962, Francois Truffaut's French New Wave telling of a ménage à trois Jules et Jim is an unmissable treat on the silver screen, while Scorsese blends passion, violence and period dress in the sumptuous The Age of Innocence. Heartache and self-discovery go hand in hand on the streets of Oslo and Paris in two recent audience favourites, The Worst Person in the World and Passengers. And who couldn’t resist a revisit of the Wachowskis’ explosive energetic debut Bound, where love blossoms in a violent land of neo-noir. Meanwhile Lisa and Mark tear poor Tommy Wiseau apart in the iconic disasterpiece The Room and Boomerang returns to the big screen seeing Eddie Murphy getting a dose of his own medicine in this iconic 90s love story.
The season takes a bow with Song's lyrical and soulful Past Lives ahead of this Summer's most anticipated rom com Materialists. We’ll finally find out if Dakota Johnson matches with Pedro Pascal or Chris Evans.
Loyalty+ and Student/U25 members can create their own love triangle with an exclusive 3 for 2 ticket offer on all season titles (excluding Materialists).
