TITE returns to Light House for 2026

TITE (Trans Image/Trans Experience) Film Festival returns for an ecstatic second year of trans and non-binary Irish and international cinema.

Following the success of its inaugural festival, Ireland’s festival of trans and non-binary cinema returns to the Light House Cinema from April 16th to 19th.

This year’s TITE programme showcases trans filmmaking at its most honest, hilarious, strange and beautiful, expanding from three to four days with a number of exciting events including feature films, shorts blocks, workshops, international filmmaker Q&As, and a special book launch.

Tickets are on sale now via the Light House Cinema, and highlights of the TITE 2026 programme include:

        She’s The He

The festival’s opening film is a delightfully silly new entry in the teen comedy genre, where two teenagers pretend to be trans to get close to the girls they like — only for one of them to realise she really is.

        Outerlands

Asia Kate-Dillon (John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum) finds their breakout feature role in this SXSW-premiered, award-winning character drama. Tense, restless, and deeply cathartic, Outerlands is an uncanny snapshot of gig work and survival in an increasingly gentrified city, where stability is growing sparse and community seems hard to come by.

        Queer As Punk

This Teddy-nominated documentary follows Malaysian queer punk band Shh..Diam!, led by magnetic trans frontman Faris, through several years of songwriting, international tours, and waves of homophobic legislation and violence in their home country. It’s a riotous portrait of creativity, passion and punk spirit in the face of conservative traditions and religious extremism.

        Puppygirl

The year’s most shocking, hilarious, bizarre and heartfelt queer documentary takes center stage at TITE closing night. Following a ‘semi-delusional’ young woman seeking to reclaim her sexuality by starring in a porn film, this sophomore feature from Henry Hanson (TITE 2025 Audience Award for Best Feature, Dog Movie) caps off TITE 2026 with a chaotic, jaw-dropping and excruciatingly honest reflection on trans pleasure, truthful filmmaking, and the power of making something weird with your friends.

Filmmaker Q&As can be found across the festival, including short filmmakers in conversation after Work ShortsCamera Shorts and Love Shorts and appearances from feature film directors Louise WeardJack Haven and Henry Hanson
