Synopsis

It's one of the rare occasions where we read a play for Cinema Book Club. Arthur Miller's The Crucible explores the infamous Salem Witch Trials, the tragic events which unfolded in 17th Century Massachusetts in which women who were accused of witchcraft were hanged by a corrupt religious town council. Miller adapted his own 1953 play for the 1996 big screen adaptation which stars Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder.

Cinema Book Club is a monthly event where we read a book then watch the big screen adaptation and meet afterwards for a chat in the Light House Cinema Bar. No need to join, just buy your ticket and come along. All are welcome, even if you haven't read the book.
